Landvörður

(2019-2022)

This project is an extension of the body of work titled "Looking North", which examines the tourism boom in Iceland. Landvörður means “Ranger” but the term also refers to the land itself, and the stone cairns which are built to mark a path. In the exhibition Landvörður, I explore our relationship to the land, the way we consume nature, and our joint responsibility in caring for the environment.

Landvörður was exhibited at The Reykjavík Museum of Photography in Iceland from June 9th to September 10th 2022 and will be presented at Slaturhúsid in East Iceland in Spring of 2023.
